Causewayz Square CIQ Walking Route — Measurement Methodology
This page explains how CIQ distances are described on this site so that straight-line, walking and developer-stated distances are never conflated. It is the methodology behind every figure cited in the CIQ section.
Three distance types
- Straight-line distance: shortest geographic distance between two points, ignoring roads and obstacles.
- Walking distance: the actual pedestrian route, which is longer than straight-line.
- Developer-stated distance: a marketing figure whose basis (straight-line or route) is not always specified — labelled as such.
Why we don't mix them
Mixing straight-line and walking distances is a common way property marketing appears more favourable than reality. This site shows the developer-stated figure as a marketing figure, and publishes any independently measured walking route separately with its method and date.
If you have a tracked route
If you record a GPS-tracked walking route from Causewayz Square to the CIQ entrance, share it via the contact page. We will publish the measured distance and time alongside the developer figure, with the date and method.
